1. Who We Are

Refined Peptide ("we", "us", "our") operates purepeptideslab.net. We are committed to protecting your personal data and processing it in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For data protection enquiries, contact: research@purepeptideslab.net.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect data you provide directly when placing an order or creating an account: name, email address, delivery address, and payment information (processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card details). We also collect technical data automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and session duration via essential cookies only. We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your personal data for the following purposes: (a) fulfilling your order and processing payment; (b) communicating order status and delivery information; (c) responding to enquiries and providing customer support; (d) complying with our legal obligations; (e) preventing fraud and maintaining security. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Our legal bases for processing personal data are: (a) contract performance — processing necessary to fulfil your order; (b) legitimate interests — fraud prevention and site security; (c) legal obligation — compliance with applicable laws; (d) consent — where you have explicitly consented (e.g. email updates, which you may withdraw at any time).

5. Data Retention

We retain order records for 7 years to comply with UK tax and accounting obligations. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active plus 2 years. You may request deletion of your account at any time, subject to our legal retention obligations.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies only: session cookies to maintain your browsing session and preferences (e.g. dark/light mode, cookie consent status). These are necessary for the site to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use analytics, advertising, or social media cookies. Your cookie preference is stored locally on your device.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; erasure ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention requirements; restriction of processing; data portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these rights, contact research@purepeptideslab.net. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our site uses TLS encryption for all data in transit. Payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant third-party providers.

9. Third-Party Processors

We use carefully selected third-party processors including: Supabase (database and authentication — EU/US hosting with Standard Contractual Clauses); Resend (transactional email delivery); Vercel (website hosting). Each processor is bound by data processing agreements and required to maintain appropriate security standards.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on our website. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
